Episode 08: Keep Your Power Gloves Off Her

Our aspiring comedian and resident photographer Ryan is back this week and has a new little segment called “Ranting with Ryan.” His rant is only to rival the rants of Dennis Miller.

This week in Totally Dominating News we discuss Dolph Lundrgren’s role in Sylvester Stallone’s new movie “The Expendables,” some trouble at a McDonald’s, and sex in a prison ceiling. 

The main topic this week is Video Games That Took a Turn For the Worst. This is a topic conceived by Ryan while playing some intense NFL Blitz 2000 games. Some games discussed are Blitz, Sonic the Hedgehog, James Bond, and many more! Like many of our discussions as of late, it gets really out of hand.

To keep going with our theme of video games, the movie of the week this week is the 1989 classic “The Wizard.” This is the story of a young boy named Jimmy Woods who has suffered from a serious mental disorder ever since his twin sister died in a young age. One day, Jimmy discovers he has a natural talent for playing lots of video games. Jimmy and his two friends run away from home and hitch cross country in Los Angeles to compete in the ultimate video game championship. This is a film Ryan and Corey cherish from their childhoods and a film that Denis and Nick have never seen before, which makes for an intense review.

Episode 07: This Time It’s Personal

Welcome to Episode 07 of Total Domination!

This week we are without two of our regulars (Ryan and Buhle). Ryan will be returning next week so do not worry, but Buhle is leaving us for good. Buhle is going to be leaving to enter the U.S. Navy and we wish him the best of luck! Also, that annoying hissing like sound is now gone!!!

This Week in Totally Dominating News we discuss the recently released trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Stark Trek, Trey Parker’s comments on a second South Park movie, and the upcoming XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. 

The main topic this week is a discussion on the worst sequels to movies. This is a topic sparked by two “wonderful” sequels, Speed 2: Cruise Control and Caddyshack 2. The rest of the movies discussed will be left a surprise, but let me tell you that this topic gets very heated and crazy!

The Movie of the Week this week is Jack Frost 2: The Return of the Mutant Killer Snowman (this is not a sequel to the movie Jack Frost with Michael Keaton). We figured we would continue the theme of “sequels” by watching this “amazing” movie, which is a sequel to a movie we have never seen. We highly recommend this “holiday favorite” if you really want to have a laugh. We it found at our local Family Video in the holiday section next to the other Jack Frost movie with Michael Keaton.

The main topic this week is movie monsters, a topic of conversation we have been dying to talk about. This  is an interesting conversation about monsters that takes some very unexpected twists and turns. You will never see (or hear) any of this coming!

The movie of the week this go around is Godzilla Final Wars! This is the latest and “last” Godzilla film and also marks the 50th anniversary of the King of All Monsters. If you think the discussion on monsters was interesting, you’ve got another thing coming!

Episode 05 – Baadasssss!

This week in news we mourn the untimely death of author Michael Crichton, how “James Bond Jr.” almost appeared in Quantum of Solace, the upcoming Three Stooges film, and an update on the Iron Man 2 casting problems. 

The main topic of the week is Ultimate Movie Badasses. We each picked one character as our own ultimate movie badass, which collectively made (in no particular order) a Total Domination Top 5 Ultimate Movie Badasses! There are some surprises in store for you guys in this one!

And finally our Movie of the Week this week is David Cronenberg’s Scanners. Scanners is about Darryl Revok is the most powerful of all the scanners, and is the head of the underground scanner movement for world domination. Scanners have great psychic power, strong enough to control minds; they can inflict enormous pain/damage on their victims. Doctor Paul Ruth finds a scanner that Revok hasn’t, and converts him to their cause – to destroy the underground movement. Surprisingly this was our first time ever seeing this movie.
